December being cold was an afterthought when Lola Frost and I headed out to the far reaches of the GVRD to get into some wetlands for our latest photoshoot. This isn’t the first time we’ve done this kind of freezing-ish shoot, some of you may remember the English Bay shoot we did this time last year. If you don’t know who Lola is, she is part of the heart and soul behind Sweet Soul Burlesque and the Vancouver Burlesque Center. Also, she’s a pretty awesome woman with a heart of gold.
I’ve learned that I really enjoy shooting on location. It adds a whole new dynamic to an image that makes it speak louder than fabricated images. I enjoy using natural lighting that gives me high contrast in images, and I enjoy throwing the model into the thick of it, literally (see grass below!). Something I enjoy a lot about shooting with Lola is that she is willing to jump into anything at any time. Indeed, a photographers dream.
Special note: Misty Greer is the creative genius behind the panties worn in both styles.
As usual, I used my trusty 50mm through my T1i. That’s it. Nothing else.
